Level 2 Improvers

Designed to follow on from our six-week Beginners Throwing courses, our Throwing Improvers course is a taught programme aimed at those who want to consolidate their basic skill to develop their throwing.

Over the six weeks Debbie will show you how to improve your centring so you can learn to throw larger amounts of clay. This is fundamental as the focus is on throwing  more complex shapes, for example ‘bellying out’ a cylinder, or making a lid.

Debbie will introduce each week’s session and give a demonstration of what you will be covering.  The rest of the session you will practice and making your own thrown pieces. Debbie will guide you and give feedback on your work informally during the session.

Prices for courses include all tuition and facilities.

All finished work is charged by weight – at £9 per kg for stoneware. This includes clay, decorating slips, glazes and bisque/glaze firings.

We ask that everyone brings an apron and small hand towel. Please bear in mind that you will struggle to work with clay and throw on a wheel with long nails!!!
