BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Individual Class Bookings
Your booking fee secures your place – we cannot reserve places without payment.
If we cancel or alter the content, time or location of a class you will be offered a full refund or the option to switch to another class.
You have the statutory 14 days to cancel or amend your booking. After this time a 50% refund or the option to switch to another class will be offered if cancelled more than one month before the class. No refunds will be offered less then one month before the class commences.
Group Bookings
Your booking is only secure once a 50% deposit has been paid.
The remaining balance must be paid one month before the class commences
Group bookings are subject to a minimum guest number
You may add extra guest to your booking at an extra cost per person once the booking has been confirmed,
Individual places on a group booking will not be refunded – your total booking cost will be based on the original booking number.
If we cancel or alter the content, time or location of a class you will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to rearrange.
If you cancel your booking one month before the class a 50% refund will be offered or the remaining balance will not be charged.
If you cancel your booking less than one month before the class the entire booking cost still applies.
Refunds and change to workshops are at the discretion of Nottingham Ceramic School and its tutors.
DATA PROTECTION POLICY
What data do we collect and store?
We only collect and store the data you give us. Name, email address, phone number, delivery address, purchase or booking details. Correspondence details may be stored when necessary.
Payment information – credit cards and PayPal details are never stored.
How is the data stored?
All data is stored electronically and is password protected. Physical paper mailing list sign up sheets are shredded once the data has been transferred to our mailing list.
What do we do with your data?
When you book a workshop or make a purchase we use the data you provide to process and complete your order. We will invite you to subscribe to our email mailing list, if you choose to do so we use your email address to send out a monthly newsletter and to keep you up to date with our latest workshops, events and products. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time. Please email to unsubscribe or to request to have your details deleted.
We may use your email or phone number to contact you about your order or booking.
Who has access to your data?
I, Kit Anderson, am the data controller of all the personal information you choose to share with Nottingham Ceramic School. The only circumstances in which your data will be shared is to complete your booking or order or in complying with the law. We will never use or pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes or any other purpose, other than the circumstances listed below, or add you to any mailing list without your consent. The circumstances in which we may share your data are:
With colleagues and delivery companies if we ever deliver anything to you.
With workshop venues when booking a workshop place
To comply with legal or tax obligations
Your data rights.
You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed or deleted. You also have the right to complain to the ICO if you believe there is a problem with the way we handle your data.
HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
At Nottingham Ceramic School we do everything we can to keep everyone safe and healthy in our workshop.
Tools & Equipment
All tools and equipment are operated in a safe and controlled manner. Every student is fully guided and supported in all tool use. You are not permitted to use any Kiln and reclaim machinery . All other equipment and tools are to be used after completing an induction with one of our experienced tutors. Tools are regularly checked and inspected.
Health & Safely in the ceramic studio
You will be given an induction and shown our safe ceramic studio practice sheet and it is a requirement that each participant follows safe studio practice with regards ceramic dust and glaze materials. You will be given instruction on how to safely use the wheels and slab roller.
Hazards:
All ceramic materials are COSHH’d and a file with full data is held at the studio.
These include :
- Ceramic clay
- Ceramic raw materials for Glaze making and decorating processes
Whilst in our workshop you are responsible for your own safety and accept all personal liability whilst using our facilities.
We provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)
There is an extraction unit in the glaze room, aprons, gloves, eye protection.
Nottingham Ceramic School holds full public and professional liability insurance and all tutors have their own public liability insurance policies.
