Level 1 Basics

Aimed at complete beginners or as a refresher, on our beginners throwing course Ben will guide you through the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel.

Over the six weeks you will learn how to prepare the clay for throwing, centring and opening up the clay and how to throw a number of different shapes, including a bowl and cylinder. Ben will introduce each weeks session and give a demonstration of what you will be covering. The rest of the session you will practice and make clay objects. Ben will guide you and give feedback on your work informally during the session.

Prices for courses includes tuition and use of facilities.

There is an additional cost for fired work at £9 per kilo  for S/W which including the clay, house glazes and both Bisque and Glaze firing.

*Please be advised that you will struggle to work with clay and throw on a wheel with long nails!!!
